Burger King Japan releases new Sumo sized burger

Burger King Japan Holdings has announced a sponsorship agreement with the Japan Sumo Association, signaling its support for Japan’s national sport, Sumo.
To commemorate this partnership, Burger King is launching a substantial new burger, the “BABY BODY BURGER,” available for a limited time and in limited quantities.
The Japan Sumo Association is the governing body for professional sumo wrestling, a traditional Japanese sport with a rich history spanning centuries.

Burger King, an international fast-food chain, is known for its flame-grilled burgers, and this collaboration marks a unique foray into supporting Japanese cultural traditions.
This latest sports related burger follows a Pickleball themed burger, released by Burger King Japan to celebrate the announcement of their sponsorship of the Japanese Pickleball Federation.

The “BABY BODY BURGER” is described as a “Yokozuna-grade” super-sized burger, a reference to the highest rank in professional sumo, signifying its impressive scale.
It features five flame-grilled 100% beef patties, four slices of smoky bacon, four slices of rich cheddar cheese, pickles, fresh lettuce, and tomato.

The burger is finished with creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, and a special aurora sauce that blends mustard, white wine vinegar’s refreshing acidity, chopped pickles for texture, and the rich umami of tomato paste.
With a total calorie count of 1,876 kcal and a total weight of 668g, the “BABY BODY BURGER” is officially approved by the Japan Sumo Association.

To celebrate its launch, customers who purchase a “BABY BODY BURGER” will receive an original sticker, available while supplies last.

For ease of consumption, customers can request a “half-cut” at the counter, allowing the burger to be split in two, making it easier to handle and enjoy the juicy center.
This sponsorship agreement means Burger King will begin its support of the Japan Sumo Association starting from the July Grand Sumo Tournament (Nagoya Basho).

The July tournament, taking place in Nagoya, is notable for featuring both East and West Grand Champions (Yokozuna) for the first time in approximately four years, drawing significant attention.
Burger King aims to increase its brand recognition and customer base through their latest initiative, while also contributing to raising interest in Sumo as a national sport and traditional culture.
The “BABY BODY BURGER” will be available from July 11th, 2025.
It will be priced at ¥2,590 for the burger alone and ¥2,890 for a set, which includes small French fries and a medium drink.
The burger will be available after 10:30 AM in stores that serve breakfast, and sales will end once quantities are depleted.
