Exclusive Pokémon TCG promo card is only available to coffee drinkers in Japan
BOSS Coffee has announced that the second part of their Team Rocket themed collaboration with the Pokémon Trading Card Game is now underway.
Building on the success of the first part of the collaboration, this new phase will see BOSS offer two special multi-packs featuring an exclusive Pokémon card.
The “Just Break Craft Boss Café 2-Pack” is now on sale in both sugar-free and lightly sweetened versions and each pack includes a highly sought-after, exclusive Pokémon card featuring “Giovanni of Team Rocket”.
Giovanni is the leader of Team Rocket, a villainous group within the Pokémon universe.
This exclusive card will feature a unique illustration of the iconic villain, making it a must-have for collectors.
“Just Break Craft Boss Café” is a concentrated coffee beverage designed to enable the easy preparation of a café-quality latte or black coffee by simply mixing it with milk or water.
The 2-packs containing the special Giovanni card are now on sale with a price of 656 yen (excluding tax). This is a limited-stock item, and sales will conclude once stores are sold out.
Cans from the first part of the collaboration between BOSS coffee and the Pokémon Trading Card Game are also still on sale.
The initial part of the collaboration saw cans of “Boss EX Evolution Mild Sweet” feature Pokémon card artwork from the “Glory of Team Rocket” expansion.
The villainous team is still a popular subject for commercial collaborations between brands and the Pokémon franchise and can still draw considerable interest as seen when the Pokémon Center Online store had to restrict access following the recent sale of a Team Rocket themed briefcase.
The partnership with BOSS Coffee is one of two recent Team Rocket themed collaborations that have been running in recent months.
Japanese spa chain Gokuraku-yu also held a promotional campaign that saw them host a series of Team Rocket themed spa events in their branches across the country.
