Baskin-Robbins announces new Super Mario collaboration for summer 2025
Baskin-Robbins Japan has launched a new collaboration campaign with Nintendo’s iconic “Super Mario” franchise.
The “Enjoy! SUPER ICE CREAM SUMMER” campaign features a wide array of limited-edition menu items and collectible merchandise inspired by the beloved characters and elements from the “Super Mario” games.
This year’s collaboration builds on the success of two previous campaigns, which have become a summer tradition in Japan.
It also follows several other collaborations at Baskin-Robbins which saw the ice cream chain offer menu items inspired by One Piece and the Kit Kat chocolate bar.
As part of this new collaboration, Baskin-Robbins is introducing a variety of limited-edition menu items inspired by the world of “Super Mario”.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is the new limited-time flavor, “Super Mario – Fruit Summer Sorbet”.
This new sorbet is visually inspired by Mario’s classic red, blue, and yellow color scheme.
The sorbet is a vibrant mix of a sweet and juicy apple-flavored red sorbet and a sweet and sour grape-flavored blue sorbet.
A standout feature of the new flavor is the inclusion of a yellow soda-flavored “bubble candy”, making its debut in Baskin-Robbins Japan’s ice cream.
This popping candy is designed to create a fizzy sensation in the mouth to complement the fruit sorbets.
The campaign’s menu is rich with creative items that directly reference the game.
The popular “Question Block Single Sundae” makes a return after becoming a fan favourite in the previous Baskin-Robbins and Super Mario collaborations.
This sundae is served in a plastic cup shaped like the iconic Question Block from the games.
Customers will be surprised with a random chocolate topping shaped like a Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, or Super Star, mirroring the excitement of getting a random item in the game.
The approximately 8cm square cups are also designed to be reusable as pen holders or decorative items.
Luigi is also featured in the collaboration menu with the “Luigi Cool Crush Soda”, a refreshing grape and apple-flavored crushed ice drink with nata de coco.
The soda is served with a spooky Boo pick and topped with a scoop of the new Mario sorbet.
Fans of Mario’s loyal dinosaur companion Yoshi will be in for a treat with the “Yoshi’s Feast Double Sundae”.
This deluxe sundae is loaded with Yoshi-themed egg biscuits, Yoshi’s egg chocolates, and “Yoshi Fruit” iced biscuits
It is topped with a transparent Yoshi pick and a Yoshi rubber cup strap that can be used on other cups or drink containers.
Super Mario Double Cups will also be available. Customers can choose two scoops of any flavor to be served in one of two collectible cups featuring Mario and his friends.
The collaboration will also see Baskin-Robbins offer several take-home and party options:
- Toad’s Homemade Ice Cream Set
A take-home set of eight ice cream scoops in a limited-edition box shaped like Toad’s House.
This set includes a Toad-themed cooling towel and a carabiner case, perfect for staying cool during summer outings.
- Super Mario Variety Box
This allows customers to choose a selection of ice cream flavors in a box decorated with various characters like Mario, Luigi, Wario, Rosalina, Donkey Kong, and Bowser.
It can be ordered with 4, 6, 8, or 12 flavors of ice cream.
- Yoshi’s Colorful 31 Deco Cake
A customizable ice cream cake (approximately 14 cm in diameter) where customers can choose six flavors and decorate it with Yoshi-themed picks, colorful eggs, and chocolate stars.
- Super Mario Palette 6
This is a Mario version of Baskin-Robbins popular Palette ice cream cake and is approximately 16 cm in diameter.
It is divided into six slices of different flavoured ice cream and features Mario character decorations.
As a special bonus, customers who purchase any collaboration product can receive an exclusive, randomly selected collaboration sticker by using the GPS check-in feature on the My Nintendo smartphone app.
There are four different sticker designs to collect.
The “Enjoy! SUPER ICE CREAM SUMMER” campaign will be available at all Baskin-Robbins locations in Japan between Tuesday, July 1st, and Thursday, July 31st, 2025.
