Bandai Reveals Screen-Accurate Godzilla (2003) Tokyo S.O.S. S.H.MonsterArts Figure

Bandai has confirmed that pre-orders will open for a brand-new S.H.MonsterArts release inspired by Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., bringing the iconic 2003 incarnation of the King of the Monsters back to their premium action figure line.
The new release faithfully recreates Godzilla’s appearance from the 2003 film while incorporating updated sculpting, articulation, and paintwork designed to accurately reflect its on-screen counterpart.

Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. follows the events of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, with the legendary monster returning to face the upgraded Kiryu Kai alongside Mothra in one of the franchise’s most memorable modern battles.

The new figure has been sculpted, painted, and supervised by renowned Godzilla designer Yuji Sakai, who used extensive reference materials from the film to faithfully recreate the creature’s distinctive appearance.

One of the most recognizable features of this version of Godzilla is the large scar across its chest, sustained during its battle with Mechagodzilla in the previous film, and this defining detail has been carefully reproduced in the sculpt.

Articulation has once again been engineered by Mitsuhiko Hosokawa, whose work across multiple generations of S.H.MonsterArts figures has become synonymous with the line’s highly expressive posing capabilities.

The extensive range of movement allows collectors to recreate numerous scenes from the movie, including dramatic battle poses against both Kiryu Kai and Mothra.

The figure has also been designed to display alongside the newly announced S.H.MonsterArts Kiryu Kai (Heavy Armament Type / High Mobility Type), allowing fans to recreate the climactic confrontations between the two legendary opponents from Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.

Together, the companion releases celebrate one of the franchise’s most popular Millennium-era films while giving collectors two highly detailed centerpieces for their S.H.MonsterArts displays.

Standing approximately 16 cm tall, the Godzilla (2003) figure combines screen-accurate sculpting, premium paint applications, and dynamic articulation to faithfully capture Godzilla’s powerful on-screen presence.

The S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2003) action figure is priced at ¥12,100 (approx. $82 USD / £61 GBP), with pre-orders opening from July 1, 2026, through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan ahead of its scheduled December 2026 release.
