Bandai officially reveals the METAL BUILD Gundam Barbatos, complete with new, original weapons
Bandai Spirits has officially unveiled one of the most highly requested additions to its premium METAL BUILD figure line.
The new figure is the “METAL BUILD Gundam Barbatos,” based on the main protagonist suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
This reveal confirms the identity of a teaser image posted by Tamashii Nations on November 10, which hinted at an Iron-Blooded Orphans release.
The METAL BUILD line is Bandai’s top-tier collector’s brand, known for its large scale, intricate detail, and heavy use of die-cast metal parts.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans is a popular entry in the Gundam franchise, known for its gritty story and the unique, exposed-frame designs of its Gundams.
This new Barbatos figure reproduces the mobile suit’s characteristic design with the “dense detail” the METAL BUILD line is famous for.
Most notably, the official images confirm that the figure will include brand-new, original equipment not seen in the anime, including a shoulder cloak and new, unidentified weaponry.
The full “METAL BUILD Gundam Barbatos” is expected to be on display at the “TAMASHII NATION 2025” event, which begins on November 14.
This reveal is the latest major news for the Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th anniversary.
It joins the recent announcement of a new STRICT-G x ALPHA INDUSTRIES MA-1 flight jacket based on protagonist Mikazuki Augus, as well as the opening of pre-orders for the “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Marchosias” from the Urdr-Hunt side story.
The upcoming TAMASHII NATION 2025 event is also expected to see the first appearance of another recently teased figure, the “G.F.F.M.C. Wing Gundam Zero Cloaked Custom” from Gundam Wing.
