Bandai Fully Reveals Gundam ZZ’s Huge New Quin Mantha Premium Figure
Bandai has fully revealed its first-ever ROBOT SPIRITS figure of Gundam ZZ’s enormous Quin Mantha, with the finished release packing in an extensive selection of weapons, effect parts and display options.
The “ROBOT SPIRITS
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ originally aired in 1986 as the direct sequel to Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, following Judau Ashta and the crew of the Argama through the First Neo Zeon War.
Quin Mantha appears during the closing stages of the series as an enormous Newtype-use Mobile Suit piloted by Ple-Two during Glemy Toto’s rebellion against Haman Karn.
Developed using technology taken from the Psycho Gundam Mk-II alongside Neo Zeon’s own Psycommu research, the machine stands roughly 40 meters tall in the anime and carries nine Mega Particle Cannons alongside more than 30 Funnels.
Bandai hasn’t attempted to reproduce that exact scale difference against other ROBOT SPIRITS releases, but the figure still reaches approximately 23cm to the top of its head and around 26cm overall once its huge shoulder armor is included.
Original Quin Mantha mechanical designer Mika Akitaka directly supervised the figure, with previously simplified or omitted areas of the anime design reworked with additional mechanical detail for the three-dimensional release.
Akitaka has also created the original printed markings used throughout the figure, adding additional panel and identification details across the familiar green and white armor.
Supporting Quin Mantha’s enormous upper body required Bandai to develop a dedicated internal structure, with die-cast parts used through the torso to provide additional strength and stability.
The joints supporting the huge shoulder binders have also been designed to retain a useful range of movement rather than leaving the armor fixed around the upper body.
A specialized waist mechanism allows the torso to be raised into the firing posture seen in Gundam ZZ, while the toes, rear Funnel containers, and waist thrusters can all be adjusted independently to change the figure’s silhouette.
Both Beam Sabers are stored inside the shoulder binders and can be shown being drawn directly from their internal compartments, recreating another feature of the Mobile Suit rather than simply supplying the weapons separately.
Once equipped, each saber can use an oversized beam effect measuring approximately 16cm long, giving the already large figure weapons that extend well beyond the length of many standard ROBOT SPIRITS releases.
The set also includes 14 Funnel effect parts and the necessary joint pieces for recreating Quin Mantha’s all-range attacks, allowing multiple weapons to be displayed away from the main body at the same time.
A dedicated display base provides further support for the figure, with three different connection options allowing Quin Mantha to be shown standing with both feet planted, suspended in the air, or leaning backward into a more dramatic firing position.
The new figure forms part of a much larger Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ 40th anniversary project that has already produced several closely related ROBOT SPIRITS releases.
Chara Soon’s Geymalk recently returned through the updated “ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Geymalk [Re: Coordinate],” while Judau’s upgraded Mobile Suit is being recreated as the new “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Enhanced ZZ Gundam”.

Bandai is also releasing a separate Full Armor Parts Set for the Enhanced ZZ Gundam, allowing the figure to be converted into the heavily armed configuration used during the final stages of the Neo Zeon conflict.
Placing Quin Mantha alongside those releases gives Bandai’s anniversary range several of the machines involved in Gundam ZZ’s final battles, while its much larger physical size should help preserve some of the imposing presence the Mobile Suit has in the anime.
The “ROBOT SPIRITS
The figure is scheduled to ship in Japan in March 2027.
A Premium Bandai US listing hasn’t been announced yet, although the recent Geymalk [Re: Coordinate] and Enhanced ZZ Gundam anniversary figures both received US pre-orders shortly after their Japanese listings appeared, so a corresponding US release for Quin Mantha is likely to follow in the coming days.
