Bandai Fully Reveals Gundam IBO’s Exclusive New Anime Accurate Gundam Vidar Premium Figure

Bandai has fully revealed a new and improved premium figure of Gundam Vidar from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, which features extensive changes to the mobile suit’s colors, markings, and metallic finish.

The “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Vidar [Re:Coordinate]” revisits Bandai’s original 2020 release with a presentation designed to more closely match Vidar’s appearance in the anime while retaining its articulated die-cast construction and full weapon loadout.

Gundam Vidar appears during the second season of Iron-Blooded Orphans as the mobile suit of the mysterious masked pilot who shares its name, eventually revealed to be Gaelio Bauduin following his apparent death during the first season.

The machine itself conceals the restored Gundam Kimaris Trooper beneath additional armor, allowing Gaelio to hide both his identity and the true nature of his Gundam until its eventual transformation into Gundam Kimaris Vidar ahead of his final confrontation with McGillis Fareed.

Bandai first teased the new Gundam Vidar [Re:Coordinate] release earlier this week, revealing revised markings across its chest, shoulders and arms before now showing the full extent of the changes made for the updated figure.

Its most obvious difference is the blue armor, which now uses a less saturated shade intended to sit closer to Gundam Vidar’s animated appearance.

Darker sections across the body receive more metallic paint than before, complementing the die-cast components already used throughout the figure and creating a stronger contrast against the lighter blue exterior armor.

Bandai has also substantially revised the markings, removing most of the red linework seen across the original release and replacing it with white caution markings alongside newly designed details on the chest, shoulders and upper arms.

Additional markings extend across the lower body, while the rear reactor has received its own revised color treatment to bring it in line with the rest of the updated finish.

The three interchangeable eye-effect parts recreating the activation of Vidar’s Alaya-Vijnana Type-E system have been refreshed as well, with fine particles mixed into the plastic to create a brighter appearance when fitted to the head.

Bandai has retained the extensive weapon selection from the earlier figure, including the 110 mm Vidar Rifle, two handguns, and six Burst Sabers carried around the mobile suit’s waist.

The Burst Saber blades now use silver plastic containing fine metallic particles, while both the rifle and handguns feature revised printed markings matching the broader [Re:Coordinate] treatment.

Vidar’s handguns can still be stored inside the front armor, while the rifle can be mounted against the side of the body when it isn’t being held.

The Hunter’s Edge blades built into the toes and heels can also be deployed for close-range attacks, with die-cast metal used for the blades themselves and movable leg thrusters supporting more aggressive combat poses.

Four pairs of interchangeable hands are included alongside two stand connectors and a dedicated display base, allowing the approximately 15 cm figure to make use of its wide range of weapons and effect parts.

Bandai has previously used the [Re:Coordinate] designation to revisit other METAL ROBOT SPIRITS releases, including the Ex-S Gundam from Gundam Sentinel, which returned earlier this year with revised splitter camouflage and a new alternate head for recreating its A.L.I.C.E. system activation.

Iron-Blooded Orphans has also continued expanding within the same premium figure line, with Gundam Marchosias receiving its own METAL ROBOT SPIRITS release featuring four deployable sub-arms, a cloth cape, and an extensive selection of Calamity War-era weapons.

In Japan, pre-orders for the “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Vidar [Re:Coordinate]”, priced at ¥19,800, are set to open through Premium Bandai Japan on October 2 ahead of shipping in March 2027.

A US release has also been confirmed exclusively through Premium Bandai US for $180, with pre-orders opening on October 2, 2026, at 3:00 AM EDT ahead of scheduled shipping in April 2027.
