Bandai announces new Gunpla kit of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz’s Sandrock Custom EW

BANDAI SPIRITS has officially announced an upcoming new High Grade (HG) Gunpla kit for the Gundam Sandrock Custom EW from the popular OVA series, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.
The announcement was made at the 2025 63rd All Japan Model Hobby Show at Tokyo Big Sight, where a prototype of the highly anticipated model was put on display.

The new HG 1/144 Gundam Sandrock Custom EW is the latest model kit in a line of renewed High Grade model kits based on the mobile suit’s Endless Waltz appearances.

This particular version of the Sandrock, piloted by Quatre Raberba Winner, is known for its imposing appearance, particularly when draped in its distinct anti-beam coating cloak.

A key feature of the exhibited prototype is the material used for this signature cloak.

Attendees at the BANDAI SPIRITS booth were able to view the Sandrock Custom EW utilizing a cape made from a new soft material.

This innovative choice is expected to greatly improve the display flexibility and realistic appearance of the cloth, traditionally a challenging element to replicate with hard plastic in model kits.

Higher quality images of the kit were also shared on social media by BANDAI SPIRITS, showing fans exactly what they can expect when the kit is released:

The release date for the HG 1/144 Gundam Sandrock Custom EW is currently slated for release in June 2026, with a retail price of 4,180 yen.

The BANDAI SPIRITS exhibit also showcased another prototype model kit alongside the Sandrock, the HG 1/144 Gustav Karl Type 00.

This large, mass-produced mobile suit is featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film trilogy, which is set in the Universal Century timeline.

The Gustav Karl Type 00 is known for its hulking, durable design, reflecting its role as a frontline unit for the Earth Federation Forces in U.C. 0105.

It is expected to feature in the upcoming second film in the trilogy, Witch of Circe.

The new Gustav Karl Type 00 Gunpla kit is scheduled for release in February 2026, retailing for 3,630 yen.
