ANA and Sanrio unite for cute collab featuring characters in airline uniforms

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, is embarking on a charming new collaboration with Sanrio, the company behind kawaii characters like Hello Kitty.
The partnership will see a range of exclusive merchandise created starring some of Sanrio’s most popular characters dressed in ANA staff uniforms.
Sanrio, founded in 1960, has built an empire on the concept of “small gift, big smile” and creating characters that embody friendship, happiness, and connection.

Hello Kitty, introduced in 1974, is arguably their most iconic creation, but the company’s roster includes a vast array of characters such as My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Hangyodon, each with their own distinct personalities and styles.
These characters have spread across various aspects of pop culture, from stationery and apparel to amusement parks and major brand collaborations.

This popularity has reached the point that Hello Kitty had an airport in Japan’s Oita Prefecture named after her earlier this year, which makes this new collaboration with ANA even more timely.
All Nippon Airways, established in 1952, is one of Japan’s premier airlines known for its high standards of service and extensive domestic and international routes.

The upcoming collaboration collection features a delightful fusion of aviation and cuteness, with five Sanrio characters specially depicted wearing ANA uniforms such as pilots, flight attendants or ground staff.
The characters that will feature in this collaboration are:

- Hello Kitty
- My Melody
- Kuromi
