A Certain Dark Item Anime Adds Hana Hishikawa to Cast as Chobi Hanano
A new cast member has been announced for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Toaru Anbu no ITEM during the Anime Japan 2026 event.
Hana Hishikawa, known for her role as Reiren in Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?, will provide the voice for Chobi Hanano.
This announcement follows the release of a teaser trailer on March 27, 2026, which confirmed that the series is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2026.
The series centers on an elite group of four girls who operate within the clandestine “dark side” of Academy City to perform dangerous secret missions.
The production is being handled by studio JCSTAFF with Tatsuyuki Nagai, who previously worked on A Certain Scientific Railgun, serving as the director.
Shigeki Kimoto is responsible for character designs, while Maiko Iuchi, a veteran of the A Certain Magical Index franchise, is composing the music.
The main voice cast features Ami Koshimizu as Shizuri Mugino, Aya Suzaki as Riko Takitsubo, Maaya Uchida as Frenda Seivelun, and Chinatsu Akasaki as Saiai Kinuhata.
Originally written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Nilitsu, the light novel series first debuted in March 2023 under the Dengeki Bunko imprint and currently has six volumes in circulation.
The franchise also includes a manga adaptation by the artist strelka that is serialized in Dengeki Daioh.
