Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish Coming to Consoles and PC

Publisher Nacon and developer Teyon have officially announced Hunter: The Reckoning Deathwish, a new first-person single-player action RPG set within the World of Darkness universe.

The game is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

Players will take on the role of a Hunter in a dark reimagining of New York City, serving as the final line of defense against supernatural creatures like vampires and werewolves.

The narrative follows a protagonist forced to confront a brutal reality when a childhood friend reappears, revealing that monstrous entities hide in plain sight throughout the Big Apple.

The gameplay emphasizes character personalization, allowing users to customize their hunter’s appearance, merits, and flaws before heading out on dangerous missions.

A central hub called the safe house, initially an old bar, will serve as a headquarters for players to manage resources, organize gear, and develop strategies as the story progresses.

Strategic investigation is a key component of the experience, as players must spy, hack, and gather clues to gain advantages over powerful quarries that cannot be defeated through brute force alone.

Combat will require the use of diverse tools ranging from improvised weapons like studded baseball bats to silver blades and firearms obtained from shady underworld sellers.

The game features a Cell system where players can meet and bond with other human companions, each possessing unique backstories, creeds, and motivations that can aid in the final confrontation.

As an Xbox Partner Preview title, the project will support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing for cross-platform access between console and PC environments.
