Yokai Batting Game In Kawagoe Announced for PC

Developer atelier mimina, known for titles like Giraffe and Annika and the upcoming HARUKA: Beyond the Stars, announced a new project titled Yokai Batting Game in Kawagoe on April 1, 2026.
The studio describes the new title as a fast-paced casual action game that is currently scheduled for a 2027 release on PC via Steam.
Players will navigate the lantern-lit festival streets of Kawagoe during the night of a full moon to fend off waves of mischievous yokai.
The gameplay focuses on simple one-button controls where players use a baseball bat to time their swings and smash incoming enemies.
Designed to be accessible for all ages, the game features four unique stages including Matsuri, Water Park, Imo Farm, and Kura Street.
Each of these locations will offer four different difficulty levels ranging from relaxed sessions to more intense challenges.
The experience aims to capture a traditional Japanese matsuri atmosphere while providing quick and addictive gameplay sessions.
A short trailer has been released through social media to showcase the vibrant visuals and the satisfying “hit” feeling of the mechanics.
