Wendy’s Japan adds mochi to their annual “moon-viewing” burgers for 2025

The fast-food chains Wendy’s First Kitchen and First Kitchen have announced their new, seasonal “tsukimi” burger lineup for the autumn.
“Tsukimi,” or “moon-viewing,” is a Japanese tradition that is celebrated by fast-food chains with special menu items that include an egg to represent the moon.

This year, the two chains are putting a unique twist on the tradition with the “Tsukimi Mocchi” series, which features a deep-fried round “mochi” rice cake in addition to the standard egg.

The new product line will feature two distinct menus, with Wendy’s First Kitchen offering an “American-style” take and First Kitchen focusing on “Japanese-style” flavors.

The full menu lineups are as follows:
Wendy’s First Kitchen Menu
- Truffle Tsukimi Mocchi™ Baconator: ¥1,450

- Tsukimi Mocchi™ Baconator: ¥1,190

- Truffle Tsukimi Mocchi™ Burger: ¥1,250

To celebrate the launch, a social media campaign will be held on the platform X.
By following the official account and reposting the campaign message, twenty participants will be chosen by lottery to win a set of four free burger coupons.
The “Tsukimi Mocchi” series is a limited-time offering, and the new burgers are scheduled to be released at both Wendy’s First Kitchen and First Kitchen locations next week, on Thursday, the 28th of August, 2025.
