Steiff Fully Unveils New Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pikachu Figure Ahead of Limited Release

Steiff has fully revealed a new premium Pokémon collectible, with the iconic toy maker preparing to release a limited-edition plush figure that celebrates the franchise’s 30th anniversary later this month.
Pokémon first debuted in 1996 and has grown into one of the world’s most successful entertainment franchises, with its games, anime, trading card game and merchandise inspiring generations of fans and collectors around the globe.

Founded in Germany in 1880, Steiff is renowned for its handcrafted collectible teddy bears and plush creations, with its signature “Button in Ear” trademark becoming a symbol of premium craftsmanship for more than a century.

Steiff is no stranger to collaborations, with a recent team up with the hit volleyball anime Haikyu!! seeing the release of an exclusive bear designed after series’ protagonist Shoyo Hinata.

Steiff had revealed through teaser images that the collectible would be based on the number “0025,” which combined with a promotional silhouette image strongly hinted that the collaboration would feature the franchise’s mascot, Pikachu, whose National Pokédex number is 25.

Now, Steiff has fully revealed the final design, with the adorable Pikachu plush figure posed in an upright position.

The collectible figure has been created to combine Steiff’s traditional craftsmanship with one of gaming’s most recognizable characters, resulting in a premium display piece aimed at dedicated Pokémon collectors.
Limited to just 1,996 pieces worldwide in tribute to Pokémon’s original 1996 debut, the handcrafted collectible is made from premium yellow mohair and features Steiff’s signature gold-plated “Button in Ear,” reinforcing its status as a collector-focused release rather than a toy.

To celebrate the release, Steiff will host a special event at its Munich store where one lucky collector will have the chance to exchange their purchase for the highly sought-after edition numbered No. 0025, matching the teased Pokédex number.

Entry into the drawing required advance registration by July 21, after which 30 participants will be selected at random and invited to participate in the lottery during an exclusive shopping hour before the store opens to the public on July 24.

The Steiff x Pokémon collector’s figure, priced at €350 (approx. $410 USD / £302 GBP), will first be available through Steiff’s official online store and Steiff retail stores from July 24, 2026, with the first 350 numbered editions reserved exclusively for Steiff before a wider retail release.
Selected retail partners will begin offering the limited-edition collectible from August 3, 2026.
