Square Enix opens orders for new figure of Final Fantasy XII’s Fran

Pre-orders have officially opened for a detailed new action figure of one of Final Fantasy XII’s most popular characters.
The “Final Fantasy XII PLAY ARTS Shin – Fran” is based on the Viera sky pirate from the classic RPG.

Final Fantasy XII first launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2006 and is celebrated for its deep “gambit” combat system and its setting in the sprawling, politically complex world of Ivalice.

Fran is a fan-favorite character from the game, known for her mysterious demeanor, tall stature, and role as Balthier’s co-pilot on the airship Strahl.

The game was re-introduced to a modern audience with the 2017 high-definition remaster, The Zodiac Age.

The figure is part of the “PLAY ARTS Shin” series, an evolution of the popular PLAY ARTS Kai line, featuring elaborate sculpting and rich details.

The figure captures Fran’s mystical appearance, including the Viera’s characteristic long ears, dark skin, and long, flowing white hair.

Close attention has been paid to her expression, which conveys a strong will and determination.
The “PLAY ARTS Shin” line introduces significant improvements over the previous Kai series, including new joint parts and click-less hip joints to achieve a wider and smoother range of motion.

As a new gimmick, the figure also features articulated eyeballs, allowing for an even greater range of expression and posing possibilities.

The figure comes with her signature bow, which has an elastic string to replicate the pose of drawing an arrow.

Other included accessories are an alternate expression part for combat, a gun, and various interchangeable hands, including weapon-holding hands.

The “Final Fantasy XII PLAY ARTS Shin Fran” is priced at 35,200 yen (approx. $228.64 USD / £182.27 GBP).
Pre-orders are now open on the Square Enix e-STORE, and the figure is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2026.
