Bandai Announces New Gundam Hathaway HG Gunpla Kit
Gunpla fans have a new reason to celebrate as Bandai Spirits unveils a long-awaited addition to the Hathaway lineup during their latest major event.
The reveal took place during the “Gunpla 45th Anniversary Special Stream Final Episode” on February 2, 2026.
Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway is a film trilogy that serves as a sequel to Char’s Counterattack, exploring the conflict between the Earth Federation and the anti-federation organization Mafty.
The recently released second film, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, continues the story of Hathaway Noa.
The mobile suits in this era are renowned for their massive size and unique, unconventional aesthetics that set them apart from traditional Earth Federation designs.
The new kit focuses on the unit piloted by the Mafty ace Gauman Nobil, as seen in the film:
- HG 1/144 Messer Type-M01 (Gauman Custom)
- Price: 3,740 yen (approx. $25 USD / £20 GBP)
The kit features new sculpting that differentiates it from the standard HG 1/144 Messer Type-F01, accurately reproducing the unique head and body shape modifications found in the upcoming film.
Alongside the Messer, Bandai Spirits also showcased several other upcoming kits across different timelines during the broadcast.
This wave of releases covers the Universal Century featured in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the post-apocalyptic setting of After War Gundam X, and the Cosmic Era timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.

This completely new sculpt features opening missile hatches and an Inner Arm Gatling that can be deployed without parts replacement.

Refreshed with a completely new sculpt and the SEED Action System, this kit includes the Tempest Beam Sword and Heat Rod.
The new kits will be available at hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan, with shipping for the Messer Type-M01 taking place from May 2026.
