Sparks Of Tomorrow Anime Second Trailer Reveals New Characters and July Premiere

Kyoto Animation has announced that its upcoming anime series, Sparks of Tomorrow, will officially premiere worldwide on Netflix on July 5, 2026.

The announcement coincided with the release of a second trailer and key visual on the series’ official website ahead of the Sparks of Tomorrow stage event at AnimeJapan 2026.

The series serves as the directorial debut for Minoru Ota, a veteran episode director at the studio who previously worked on titles such as Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and Sound! Euphonium.

Tatsuhiko Urahata is handling the series composition, while Kohei Okamura is leading the character design and chief animation direction.

The opening theme song for the production is titled Eureka Evrika and is performed by Luna Goami, while the ending theme is provided by the South Californian project Ginger Root.

Four additional voice cast members were revealed, including Yo Taichi as Suzu Harashima, Natsumi Kawaida as Kate Okura, Kazuki Ura as Yajiro Yagura, and Daisuke Hirakawa as Izo Masubuchi.

Leading up to the July 5, 2026 premiere, the production will embark on a world premiere tour with scheduled stops in Japan, the United Kingdom, Thailand, and North America.

The Japanese leg of the tour is set for June 14, 2026, at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo, with details for international locations expected to be released in April 2026.

Adapted from the light novel 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku by Hiro Yuki, the story is set in an alternate early 20th century Kyoto where steam technology prevails and the age of electricity is just beginning.

The project represents a significant milestone for Kyoto Animation as it is the first major original production to reach completion following the studio’s recovery from a tragic arson attack in 2019.
