Silent Hill f set for September release, promises action-oriented gameplay

Konami has announced that Silent Hill f, the next entry in the Silent Hill series, will launch later this year on September 25th.
First revealed in 2022, the game was given a new trailer alongside its confirmed release date.
Silent Hill is a long-running psychological horror video game series known for its unsettling atmosphere, intricate narratives, and challenging puzzles. Silent Hill f aims to continue this tradition while introducing new gameplay dynamics.
In Silent Hill f, players will assume the role of Shimizu Hinako, a high school student in 1960s Japan.

As her hometown becomes enveloped in a strange fog and transforms into a nightmarish landscape, Hinako must explore, solve puzzles, and fight for her survival.
According to the developer, the game’s puzzles are “grounded in psychological anguish and suffering,” fitting the series’ thematic roots.
Konami has stated that combat in Silent Hill f will be “more action-oriented” compared to the Silent Hill 2 remake, which was released last year.
The combat encounters are described as “as challenging as the obstacles that Hinako must overcome in life.”

Hinako’s journey will involve crucial decisions that will determine her ultimate fate.
Players will navigate whether she embraces elegance and beauty, succumbs to madness and horror, or manages to confront her fears and find an escape from the unfolding insanity.
For those interested, pre-orders for Silent Hill f are currently live on the PlayStation Store.
Other games announced as part of the State of Play event included Nioh 3, Capcom’s Pragmata, a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster and a Marvel themed 4v4 tag team fighter.
