Sanrio’s My Melody and Kuromi Star in New Limited-Edition Mascara Collab Collection

Kuromi and My Melody are bringing some Sanrio style to a new beauty collaboration, appearing across a limited collection of Lash Guardian mascaras with character-themed packaging and colors designed for both upper and lower lashes.
The pair have become two of Sanrio’s most recognizable characters, with My Melody’s sweet pink styling contrasting with Kuromi’s mischievous black-and-purple look and making them a natural fit for a cosmetics collection built around different makeup styles.

Both characters appear in playful balloon-inspired artwork created for the collaboration, giving the mascara tubes a colorful limited-edition appearance while keeping the formulas themselves focused on long-lasting curl and definition.

The larger Neo Gravity Mascara is designed to create clean, elongated upper lashes while maintaining their curl throughout the day, with a waterproof formula that can still be removed using warm water and facial cleanser.

Two character editions are being offered, with Kuromi representing the darker Meta Black shade while My Melody appears on Black Ash, giving the collection both a stronger black finish and a softer alternative.

The Nano Gravity Mascara takes a different approach with a smaller applicator created specifically for lower lashes, aiming to make short and harder-to-reach lashes easier to separate and define.

Its single Meta Black version brings My Melody and Kuromi together on the packaging, combining both characters rather than assigning the formula to just one of them.

The limited Kuromi Meta Black Neo Gravity Mascara, priced at ¥1,540 (approx. $10 USD / £7 GBP), pairs the long-lash formula with Kuromi’s balloon artwork and a deep black finish.

The My Melody Black Ash Neo Gravity Mascara, also priced at ¥1,540 (approx. $10 USD / £7 GBP), uses the same curl-holding formula with a softer black-ash shade and My Melody-themed packaging.

The My Melody & Kuromi Meta Black Nano Gravity Mascara, priced at ¥1,430 (approx. $9 USD / £7 GBP), is aimed at defining lower lashes and features both Sanrio characters together on its limited design.

Select stores in Japan have already begun selling the collaboration ahead of its wider launch, with the full range set to become available through variety stores, selected drugstores and major retailers nationwide on August 31, 2026.
