Sanrio’s latest collaboration is a limited edition My Melody and Kuromi makeup primer

Japanese cosmetics brand Primavista has announced a new collaboration with the popular Sanrio characters My Melody and Kuromi.

The collaboration will see the sale of a limited-edition version of the brand’s popular “Skin Protect Base <Dryness Prevention>” makeup primer.

This new partnership is being held to celebrate the “matching anniversaries” of the two characters, with My Melody celebrating her 50th anniversary and Kuromi her 20th.

A number of other collaborations have taken place throughout the anniversary year, which include an upcoming McDonald’s Happy Meal promotion based around My Melody and Kuromi.

The new limited-edition Primavista product packaging features a new, original design that embodies the “MeloKuro” relationship, showing the two characters holding a single heart together.

The product itself is a moisturizing makeup base that is designed to prevent makeup from breaking down due to dryness.

It contains a “Skin Protect Veil” that adheres to the skin, keeping it feeling moisturized throughout the day while also preventing shininess in the T-zone.

The base has an SPF of 20, is designed to not transfer easily onto a mask, and is formulated with moisturizing ingredients.

The limited-edition design is available for two different colors of the makeup base.

The two available colors are:

  • Beige: For covering uneven skin tone.

  • Lavender: For covering dullness.

The new, limited-edition “Primavista Skin Protect Base” with the My Melody & Kuromi design is a limited-quantity item.

It will be sold exclusively at Welcia Group, AEON, and AEON STYLE retail stores across Japan from the 12th of September.
