Sanrio Announces New Subway Collab Starring Hapidanbui

Sanrio’s Hapidanbui is heading to Subway this summer for the group’s first-ever collaboration with the popular sandwich chain, bringing exclusive meal sets, collectible merchandise and themed packaging to restaurants across Japan.
The limited-time “HapiSub Summer!” stars Sanrio’s all-star group made up of six popular male characters: Pochacco, Tuxedosam, Kerokerokeroppi, Badtz-Maru, Hangyodon and Pekkle, who promote the message, “Together, everything will be daijoubui!”.

The collaboration centers around three special meal sets, each pairing one of Subway’s signature sandwiches with a small fries and small drink while also including an exclusive randomly selected Hapidanbui collectible.

Customers can choose the Shrimp & Egg Set for ¥1,120 (approx. $8 USD / £6 GBP), the BLT Set for ¥1,120 (approx. $8 USD / £6 GBP), or the Salad Chicken Set for ¥1,120 (approx. $8 USD / £6 GBP).
The Shrimp & Egg sandwich combines creamy egg salad with plump shrimp before being finished with chipotle sauce, creating a balance of rich flavor, satisfying texture and a mildly smoky, spicy finish.

The BLT option pairs smoked pork belly bacon with seasoned semi-dried sausage, with Caesar dressing recommended to complement its savory flavor profile.

Finally, the Salad Chicken sandwich combines tender chicken with the sweetness of honey and the tang of wholegrain mustard, making Honey Mustard sauce an ideal pairing.

Each meal will also be served in a collaboration-exclusive Hapidanbui paper bag created specifically for the campaign.
The first phase of the promotion includes one randomly selected acrylic keychain from a collection of four exclusive designs, with one keychain included per qualifying meal set while supplies last.

A second wave of exclusive merchandise has also been confirmed, with additional details scheduled to be announced at a later date.
The Hapidanbui × Subway HapiSub Summer! collaboration runs from July 8 through August 31, 2026 at participating Subway locations across Japan, with purchases limited to two collaboration meal sets per transaction and available exclusively through in-store ordering, excluding mobile orders and delivery services.

The exclusive collaboration merchandise will only be available while supplies last at each participating location, making early visits the best opportunity for fans hoping to collect the limited-edition items.
