Sailor Moon Unveils Exclusive New Anniversary Designs for Usagi and the Inner Senshi
Image by James RichardsonSailor Moon is celebrating another milestone with new anniversary artwork as its official store marks nine years since opening in Tokyo.
The Sailor Moon store officially celebrated its ninth anniversary on September 23, 2026, with the newly created anniversary visual now displayed across the windows of its flagship location inside Laforet Harajuku.
The Harajuku store originally opened on September 23, 2017 and has since become a permanent destination for official Sailor Moon merchandise, regularly releasing products that aren’t offered through wider retail partners.
New merchandise using the ninth anniversary artwork has already been confirmed for release at a later date, although the exact products, pricing and launch schedule haven’t yet been announced.
Last year’s eighth anniversary provides an idea of what fans could potentially expect, with the previous commemorative range including acrylic stands, face towels, a fabric poster, mug, stickers, collection cards and other store-exclusive items using its anniversary artwork.
The latest store displays also give fans another look at a much wider selection of Sailor Moon store-exclusive merchandise, although these products are separate from the new ninth anniversary collection.
Among the products shown is the Princess Serenity Ring Notebook, which uses artwork of Usagi’s past-life identity and was originally released as a B5 double-ring notebook with blank pages.
Transformation items continue to feature heavily throughout the store’s accessory lineup, with hair clips based on items such as the Transformation Brooch, Crystal Star Compact and Cosmic Heart Compact turning Usagi’s magical items into wearable accessories.
Other merchandise highlighted through the displays includes T-shirts, Glitter Pouches, a Lunch Set, Key Holders and Face Towels, giving visitors a broad selection of products while they wait for the dedicated ninth anniversary merchandise to be fully revealed.
The Glitter Pouches are based on the image colors of the five Inner Sailor Guardians, with pink, light blue, red, green and orange versions decorated with character-specific designs.
The newer Lunch Series instead focuses on Luna and the Sailor Moon store logo across items including a lunch box, storage containers, chopstick and spoon set, cup and insulated lunch tote.
The anniversary reveal comes during a wider run of new Sailor Moon releases, including the return of several familiar transformation items in different forms.
Bandai recently revived the original Moon Stick as the first release in its new Resparkle series, which recreates classic Sailor Moon toys for adult fans.
Several transformation items have also returned through Bandai’s Miracle Romance beauty line, with the Transformation Brooch, Crystal Star Compact and Cosmic Heart Compact recreated as portable lip and cheek cosmetics.
US fans have received new Sailor Moon accessories of their own, with Hot Topic recently releasing a Cosmic Heart Hair Pin and a five-piece Inner Sailor Guardian bead bracelet set.
