Hot Topic Releases New Sailor Moon Cosmic Heart Hair Pin and Guardian Bracelet Set
Image by James RichardsonHot Topic has added two new official Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon accessories to its growing US merchandise range, with the latest releases taking inspiration from the Cosmic Heart Compact and the Inner Sailor Guardians.
The new arrivals continue Hot Topic’s recent focus on wearable Sailor Moon merchandise, combining recognizable symbols from the anime with accessories designed to work as part of an everyday outfit rather than simply being displayed.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon began as Naoko Takeuchi’s manga in 1991 before becoming one of the defining magical girl anime franchises of the 1990s, following Usagi Tsukino as she fights alongside the Sailor Guardians to protect Earth from a succession of supernatural threats.
One of the two new releases is a Cosmic Heart Hair Pin based on the distinctive heart-shaped transformation item introduced during Sailor Moon S.
The Cosmic Heart Compact allows Usagi to transform using “Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!” and has remained one of the most recognizable accessories from the anime, recently appearing again as part of Bandai’s official Miracle Romance lip and cheek cosmetics collection.
Hot Topic’s new interpretation turns the familiar compact into an alloy hair accessory, keeping its pink heart-shaped appearance while making the design small enough to incorporate into an everyday hairstyle.
The second release focuses on the wider Sailor Guardian team through a five-piece bead bracelet set.
Each bracelet combines gold-tone beads with a different selection of colored beads representing one of the Inner Sailor Guardians, while a symbol associated with the corresponding Guardian appears at the center.
The set gives fans five coordinated designs that can either be worn together or separated depending on which Guardian or color scheme they want to represent.
These aren’t the first Sailor Moon accessories Hot Topic has released this year, with the popular retailer already carrying several products based around the Guardians’ transformation items and symbols.
One of those earlier releases is the “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Scepter Blind Box Hair Clip,” which turns different transformation weapons from the series into wearable hair accessories sold individually in mystery packaging.
Hot Topic has also previously released a “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Character Blind Box Necklace” featuring a gold-tone chain and a randomly selected colorful planetary symbol pendant inspired by one of the Sailor Guardians.
The necklace uses an 18-inch chain with a 3-inch extender and combines nickel-free alloy, plastic and resin, while its blind-box format means buyers won’t know which Guardian-inspired design they have received until the package is opened.
Both of the new Sailor Moon accessories are currently in stock for online orders through Hot Topic, with the Inner Sailor Guardian Bead Bracelet Set priced at $18.90 and the Cosmic Heart Hair Pin available for $14.90.
