Resident Evil Announces Huge New 30th Anniversary Exhibition

A major Resident Evil anniversary exhibition has been announced to celebrate 30 years of Capcom’s legendary survival horror series.
“THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition” will invite fans to step inside the terrifying world built across three decades of games, characters, viruses, monsters and unforgettable survival horror scenarios.

Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, first launched in 1996 and helped define the survival horror genre by challenging players to escape extreme situations while managing limited weapons, items and resources.

As of March 31, 2026, the series has sold more than 201 million copies worldwide, continuing to attract passionate support from players around the globe.

The exhibition’s newly revealed key visual features popular characters from across the franchise alongside imagery tied to the viruses and infection sources that have shaped the series’ expanding world.

Rather than functioning as a simple display of artwork and memorabilia, “THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition” has been designed as an immersive experience that recreates the fears, incidents and locations encountered by the series’ protagonists.
Visitors will be able to experience the Resident Evil world through spatial design, video presentations and physical recreations that aim to make the exhibition feel as though it has been pulled directly from the games.
One of the opening attractions is “THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD Theater,” a large-screen presentation that introduces visitors to memorable scenes from throughout the series and sets the mood for the exhibition’s survival horror atmosphere.

Another area, titled “Evidence of Fear,” focuses on the viruses, parasites and fungi that have served as key infection elements across the franchise.
This section will gather together development materials while also allowing visitors to view life-size recreations of villains created with close attention to detail.
A further exhibition zone, “Memories of Those Who Confronted Them,” highlights the protagonists who have survived countless life-threatening incidents from their first appearances through to the latest entries.
This area will present a large amount of information on the heroes of the series and will also include a life-size photo spot featuring Grace Ashcroft as the hand of The Girl reaches toward her from behind.
In addition to standard admission, a special ticket bundled with an exclusive framed pin set will also be offered.
The limited bonus item features the exhibition logo at its centre surrounded by package designs from 22 Resident Evil titles, covering everything from the first game through to Resident Evil Requiem and other entries such as Resident Evil Revelations.

Only 2,500 of these framed pin sets will be made available through a lottery sale, and the bonus will be exchanged at the venue on the day of attendance.
Advance lottery applications for Biohazard Portal members will open on July 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and run until July 19, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., with lottery results and payment confirmation scheduled from July 24 at 3:00 p.m. through July 27 at 11:59 p.m.

Applicants must log in with a CAPCOM ID and register for the Biohazard Portal in order to enter the member-only advance lottery.
General ticket sales are scheduled to begin through Ticket Pia on July 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with all tickets issued for specific dates and times.

“THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition” will run for 56 days from October 30 to December 24, 2026 at BEAM Gallery on the fourth floor of Shibuya BEAM in Tokyo, located around five minutes on foot from Shibuya Station.
The venue will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (JST) on weekdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (JST) on weekends and holidays, with final admission at 7:59 p.m. (JST), while the opening day on October 30 will begin at 9:00 a.m. (JST).
