Square Enix reveals full menu for new Final Fantasy IX themed cafe

A new, limited-time “SQUARE ENIX POP UP CAFE” is set to open in a collaboration between the video game giant and the Pasela Resorts group. 

The cafe, which is scheduled to run until the spring of 2026, will feature a series of rotating themes based on Square Enix’s popular franchises.

The first theme for the new cafe will be a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the beloved role-playing game, Final Fantasy IX. 

This first collaboration will feature an extensive menu of food and drinks inspired by the characters and story of the classic game, which will be split into two halves.

The full menu for the Final Fantasy IX event has now been revealed and will be as follows:

Customers will receive a free, random placemat upon entry and a free, random coaster with every collaboration menu item ordered.

A separate, street-facing takeout stall will also be selling “Slime-yaki” and “Chocobo-yaki” pastries.

The “SQUARE ENIX POP UP CAFE” will be located at the Pasela Labo Tower in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The Final Fantasy IX collaboration is scheduled to run from Saturday, the 20th of September, to Friday, the 12th of December, 2025.

Reservations for the cafe are scheduled to open on Saturday, the 6th of September, at 12:00 PM Japan Standard Time via the official website.
