Regal Reveals Exclusive New Resident Evil Organ Transplant Popcorn Bag
Image by Charlotte DavisResident Evil is getting one of the more unusual movie theater popcorn holder releases of the year, with Regal replacing the traditional plastic bucket with an organ transplant bag.
The new “Resident Evil Organ Transplant Popcorn Bag” resembles the insulated medical cooler carried by protagonist Bryan in the upcoming movie, turning an important part of the film’s story into a functional concession stand item.
Resident Evil arrives as a new cinematic interpretation of Capcom’s survival horror series from Zach Cregger, the director behind Barbarian and Weapons.
Cregger directed the movie and co-wrote it with Shay Hatten, while Austin Abrams is joined in the cast by Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser.
Rather than directly adapting one of the games, the movie tells an original story following Bryan, played by Abrams, a medical courier whose routine job rapidly develops into a fight for survival during one increasingly chaotic night.
That occupation gives Regal’s popcorn bag a direct connection to the movie rather than simply using a generic zombie or Umbrella Corporation design.
The bag uses a green insulated exterior with a zippered top, carrying handles and medical-style markings intended to make it resemble equipment used to transport human organs.
A white medical cross appears prominently across the front alongside an organ transplant symbol and instructions reading “Handle with Care,” “Keep Cool” and “Do Not Freeze”.
The new popcorn bag also has a practical advantage over many conventional movie popcorn buckets, as its soft cooler-style construction means it can continue to function as a reusable bag after the movie ends.
Regal is also offering another exclusive Resident Evil item around the movie’s opening weekend, with Regal Crown Club members able to receive a special collectible ticket at participating theaters from September 17 through September 20 while supplies last.
The “Resident Evil Organ Transplant Popcorn Bag” will be available through select Regal theaters in the US while supplies last and includes a large popcorn, although Regal has not yet announced an official price for the bag.
Resident Evil will be released in US theaters on September 18, 2026, with tickets already on sale through Regal and other participating theaters.
