Rebuild of Evangelion’s “lost” Unit-04 finally appears as a high-end action figure

Pre-orders have officially opened for a high-end action figure of a mobile suit that never actually made it onto the screen in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
The new figure is the “ROBO-DOU Evangelion Unit-04” from the Hong Kong-based manufacturer threezero.

In the lore of the Rebuild of Evangelion films, Unit-04 is the Eva unit that famously vanished along with the NERV branch in Nevada due to an experimental accident, never appearing in the main story.

threezero has brought this “phantom” unit to life based on official setting materials, creating a striking silver figure.
The figure stands approximately 25 centimeters tall and features a die-cast zinc alloy internal frame for stability and weight.

It boasts approximately 48 points of articulation, providing a heavy, high-quality feel and a wide range of motion.

The figure comes fully equipped with a variety of accessories to simulate different combat scenarios.

It includes the unit’s standard weaponry, such as a Progressive Knife and a Pallet Rifle.

The set also features the iconic Spear of Longinus and an Umbilical Cable for power supply simulation.

To enhance display options, it comes with two interchangeable Entry Plugs to depict either insertion or extraction modes.

Five pairs of interchangeable hands are included, along with a specialized ROBO-DOU action stand to support dynamic posing.

This is the latest in a surge of high-end Evangelion merchandise announced recently.
Bandai Spirits recently announced a “30MP Shikinami Asuka Langley” model kit, while the jewelry brand SERGE THORAVAL revealed a collection of silver accessories engraved with quotes from Shinji, Rei, and Asuka.

Good Smile Company also recently opened pre-orders for a new line of “BRICKROID” mini-figures featuring Unit-01, Unit-02, and Unit-13.

The “ROBO-DOU Evangelion Unit-04” is priced at 22,990 yen (approx. $153.00 USD / £120.00 GBP).
Pre-orders opened on December 2, 2025, via the threezero store and other major retailers, such as HobbyLink Japan.
The figure is scheduled to ship in the second quarter of 2026.
