Re-release announced for PlayStation logo display that plays iconic startup sound

Premium Bandai has announced the resale of one of its most unique nostalgic collectibles that allows fans to reminisce by playing one of gaming’s most memorable sounds.
The “Acrylic Logo Display Sounds – PlayStation™” was originally released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the console, which launched in Japan on December 3, 1994, and is the first entry in Bandai’s “Acrylic Logo Display Sounds” series.

While the company has produced numerous acrylic stands featuring logos from anime and tokusatsu (special effects) series, this specific line upgrades the concept by integrating audio features that bring the static logo to life.

The display stands apart from standard acrylic figures with a thicker, more robust build and a specially processed surface designed to exude a sense of luxury and presence suitable for display alongside a collection of games or consoles.

The centerpiece of the product is its interactive “Sound Pedestal.”

When the user presses the center of the base, the device plays the legendary PlayStation startup sound – the deep, resonant synth drone followed by the sparkling chimes that signaled the beginning of a gaming session for millions of players in the 90s.

This auditory trigger is designed to instantly evoke memories of the 32-bit era, making it a perfect companion piece for other recent high-end tributes, such as the PlayStation x ANICORN Limited Edition Mechanical Watch announced earlier this week.

The acrylic figure also comes with a standard base, which allows it to be displayed without the “Sound Pedestal.”

Pre-orders for the resale of the “Acrylic Logo Display Sounds – PlayStation™” opened on Monday, December 15, 2025, via the Premium Bandai official online store.

The pre-order window is scheduled to remain open until Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 23:00 (JST).
The display is priced at 3,850 yen (approx. $26.00 USD / £20.50 GBP) and orders placed during this new pre-order period are scheduled to ship in April 2026.
