PS5 Pro Third-Party Games Receive Upgraded PSSR Support March 17

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the rollout of an upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The updated upscaling technology is integrated into the latest system software update and begins its phased release on March 16, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. PT and March 17, 2026, at 1:00 a.m. ET.
Several major third-party developers are launching official updates to support the enhanced image quality across a variety of titles.
Confirmed games receiving immediate support include Dragon’s Dogma II and Monster Hunter Wilds from Capcom, as well as Electronic Arts’ Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Koei Tecmo is providing updates for Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin, while Konami is supporting both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f.
Other notable titles featuring the upgrade include Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II from Ninja Theory, and Remedy Entertainment’s Control and Alan Wake II.
Square Enix has also confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will benefit from the new technology to improve character details and image stability.
Additional support is expected soon for upcoming and existing games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Crimson Desert, and Cyberpunk 2077.
Users can also attempt to apply the improvements to any game that supports the original upscaler by enabling the Enhance PSSR Image Quality toggle in the system settings.
Technical directors from various studios have noted that the update provides sharper edges on natural objects, improved particle effects, and more stable framerates in both Fidelity and Performance modes.
