Pre-orders start for re-release of Metroid’s Samus Aran figma action figures

Good Smile Company has announced the re-release of two popular Samus Aran figma action figures based on “Metroid: Other M”.
Pre-orders for both “figma Samus Aran” and “figma Samus Aran Zero Suit ver.” are now open – news that is to be popular with Metroid fans and collectors who missed out when they were originally released.

“Metroid: Other M” was released in 2010 and delved into Samus Aran’s backstory and personality while shifting between third-person action and first-person exploration.

Unusually for a Metroid game it was developed by Tecmo Koei’s Team Ninja, the studio behing the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series, rather than Nintendo themselves or their Retro Studios subsidiary.
Samus Aran is one of Nintendo’s most enduring and recognizable characters, a highly skilled bounty hunter known for her powerful Chozo-designed Power Suit and her solitary missions against various alien threats.

The “Zero Suit” form she adopts when her Power Suit is removed showcases a more agile and dynamic side of the character, highlighting her athletic physique and stealth capabilities.
The re-release of these two figma figures provides an excellent opportunity for fans who missed out on their initial runs to add these detailed collectibles to their collections.

Figma action figures are known for their exceptional articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses while maintaining accurate character proportions. This makes them highly versatile for display and photography.
The “figma Samus Aran” figure features Samus in her iconic Power Suit. This highly poseable figure comes equipped with various accessories to recreate memorable moments from “Metroid: Other M”.

These include two types of “beam effects” that can be attached to her arm cannon, as well as a “morph ball” – Samus’s ability to transform into a small, spherical form for traversing tight spaces.

Additionally, a “replaceable launcher part” is included to replicate the action of firing a missile.

For expressive posing, the figure offers multiple interchangeable left wrist parts, such as “gripping hands”, “open hands” and the distinctive “thumbs up hand” and “cannon hand” that are particularly memorable from the game.

Complementing the armored version is the “figma Samus Aran Zero Suit ver.” figure. This figure beautifully captures the sleek lines of Samus’s form when unencumbered by her Power Suit.
This version comes with two distinct facial expressions: a determined and dignified glaring face, and a gentler, more approachable smiling face.

Accessories for the Zero Suit figure include a “thumbs-up hand”, her trusty handgun and a replica of Adam’s helmet.
A special short-hair head part is included, allowing collectors to display Samus in her younger appearance, as seen in flashback sequences within the game.

Both “figma Samus Aran” and “figma Samus Aran Zero Suit ver.” are priced at 9,800 yen ($ USD / £ GBP) each.

Pre-orders are currently being accepted on Good Smile Company’s official website, with the pre-order period set to end on July 2nd 2025.
The figures are currently expected to be shipped to customers in January and February 2026.
