Pre-orders now live for re-release of rare Gundam model kits and expansion sets
A wide range of Premium Bandai exclusive Gunpla kits and expansion part sets are being re-released and are now available to pre-order.
This re-release event offers collectors a second chance to acquire popular kits from various Gundam series that were previously difficult to obtain as they were considered to be no longer in production.
Gunpla, or “Gundam plastic model,” kits are a cornerstone of the Gundam multimedia franchise, which began in 1979 with Mobile Suit Gundam.
Over the decades, the series has expanded into numerous anime, manga, and video game iterations, each introducing new Mobile Suit designs that are then immortalized as model kits.
BANDAI SPIRITS produces these kits in various grades such as High Grade (HG), Master Grade (MG) and Real Grade (RG), which offer increasingly complex builds with intricate internal frames, higher detail and advanced articulation.
Premium Bandai serves as BANDAI SPIRITS’ official online store for exclusive, limited-run, or specialized variants of Gunpla and other hobby products, often catering to dedicated collectors.
As part of this re-release six gunpla products from the Universal Century and Future Century timelines are being re-released.
This covers a variety of series set in the same continuity as the original Mobile Suit Gundam series and the spin-off G-Gundam.
A separate range of re-releases focusing on gunpla kits based on the Gundam Wing series has also been announced as well as a range of kits based on the Advance of Z side-story.
Let’s take a look at the six gunpla kits and expansion sets that are being re-released!
RG 1/144 God Gundam Expansion Set
Designed to complement the Real Grade 1/144 God Gundam (Burning Gundam) kit, this set includes effect parts that allow you to recreate iconic moves from Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
The expansion set will cost 3,080 yen (approx. $21.41 USD / £15.89 GBP).
RG 1/144 Gundam Astraea Parts Set for Gundam Exia
This expansion set allows builders to convert their existing RG 1/144 Gundam Exia into the prototype Mobile Suit, Gundam Astraea, from Mobile Suit Gundam 00P novel.
This parts set is priced at 2,420 yen (approx. $16.82 USD / £12.48 GBP).
HG 1/144 High Mobility Zaku Ground Type (Danan Model)
This Zaku variant originates from the 2022 movie “Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island”, offering a specialized ground combat version of the iconic Zaku II piloted by Danan Rashica.
This gunpla kit will cost 2,750 yen (approx. $19.11 USD / £14.18 GBP).
MG 1/100 F90IIIY Cluster Gundam
From the Formula 90 (F90) series, this Cluster Gundam kit is a highly detailed Master Grade kit.
It is priced at 6,600 yen (approx. $45.88 USD / £34.05 GBP).
HG 1/144 Dragon Gundam
A fan-favorite from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, the Dragon Gundam is recognizable by its unique armaments and martial arts-inspired design.
This gunpla kit is priced at 3,960 yen (approx. $27.53 USD / £20.43 GBP).
HG 1/144 Zaku IIF Chubs and Kale + Unidentified Zaku II Solari Reproduction Parts Set (RFV)
This kit allows you to build the Chubs and Kale Zaku II variants from the Netflix animation Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.
It also includes parts that can be used to create the Unidentified Zaku IIF Solari mobile suit using a separately sold Unidentified Zaku IIF Solari gunplay kit.
This gunplay kit is priced at 6,050 yen (approx. $42.06 USD / £31.21 GBP).
Pre-orders for these models are now open and can be placed on the Premium Bandai website.
Premium Bandai currently expect to start shipping pre-orders for these items in August 2025.
