Pokémon HOME transfers to Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A will be irreversible

It has officially been announced that the upcoming game Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A will be compatible with the Pokémon HOME service, but with a major, irreversible restriction.
Pokémon HOME is a cloud-based service that allows players to gather their Pokémon from various games in the series and transfer them between compatible titles.

The service is scheduled to become compatible with the new game in 2026.
However, the official Pokémon website has issued a significant warning for players who plan to use this feature.

Any Pokémon that is transferred from a previous Pokémon series game into Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A will not be able to be transferred back to its original game.
This one-way transfer means that players who want to continue using a specific Pokémon in an older game should be extremely careful not to move it into the new title, as the process is permanent.

It has also been confirmed that Pokémon that are originally caught in Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A cannot be transferred to any of the previous games in the series.
This major news comes amidst a flurry of recent announcements for the highly anticipated game.

It was recently revealed that the starter Pokémon from the Kalos region – Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja – will all be receiving new Mega Evolutions in the game.

New Mega Evolutions for Hawlucha and Malamar have also been announced.

A paid downloadable content expansion, “Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A: Mega Dimension Rush”, has also been revealed, which will feature the first-ever Mega Evolutions for the classic Pokémon, Raichu.
