Persona 5 Announces New Official Rocket League Collab Featuring Morgana Car
Persona 5 and Rocket League have announced a new collaboration that will bring Morgana’s vehicle, Phantom Thieves cosmetics and a range of themed rewards to the popular car-soccer game later this month.
Developed by Psyonix, Rocket League replaces traditional soccer players with rocket-powered cars, with teams competing to knock an oversized ball into their opponent’s goal across enclosed arenas.
The game originally launched in 2015 before becoming free-to-play in 2020, and has since hosted collaborations covering numerous games, movies and entertainment franchises through themed vehicles and customization items.
Persona 5 follows Joker and the Phantom Thieves of Hearts as they use their supernatural abilities to enter the Metaverse and change the hearts of corrupt adults, with Morgana serving as both a member of the group and their primary means of transportation when he transforms into a vehicle.
That transformation is being recreated directly for the Rocket League collaboration through the new “Mona Car,” turning Morgana’s familiar vehicle form into a playable car body.
The Mona Car will be available through a dedicated bundle that also includes matching wheels and a decal based around its distinctive black, white, and yellow appearance.
Additional decals inspired by Joker and Panther will allow players to change the look of the Mona Car, while the bundle also includes Phantom Thieves of Hearts wheels and a special goal explosion based on the group.
Players won’t need to purchase the bundle to take part in the crossover, as a separate series of event challenges will offer several Persona 5 rewards that can be earned through regular play.
These include Trickster wheels, a Morgana Token boost and trail, a Phantom Thieves of Hearts universal decal and a Persona 5 Royal decal created for the popular Octane car body.
Joker is represented through a topper that can be mounted above a player’s vehicle, while Morgana receives a dedicated player banner and the wider game is represented through a Persona 5 Royal avatar border.
Other challenge rewards include the “TAKE YOUR HEART” player title, a Treasure Chest, and a repeatable reward offering 20,000 XP.
The Rocket League event arrives during an especially busy period for Persona 5 as the wider Persona series celebrates its 30th anniversary, which officially fell on September 20, 2026.
Those celebrations have already included new artwork showing Shadow versions of protagonists from across the series, a five-bottle anniversary sake collection and specially tuned gaming earphones featuring Persona characters from several generations.
Persona 5 Royal has also announced another racing-focused crossover with “Initial D THE ARCADE,” which will bring Joker, Panther and Queen-themed cars alongside songs including “Life Will Change,” “Last Surprise” and “Rivers in the Desert” when the event begins in October.
The Persona 5 collaboration will run in Rocket League from September 25 through October 12, 2026, with the challenge rewards available during the event and the Mona Car Bundle offered separately through the in-game Shop.
