Original Resident Evil and Breath Of Fire IV Now on Steam

Capcom and GOG have officially launched the original PC versions of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and Breath of Fire IV on the Steam platform as of April 1, 2026.

These classic titles arrive on Valve’s storefront following a previous period of availability on GOG and are currently offered at a limited-time launch price of $4.99 before increasing to $9.99 each.

The releases are the result of a co-development effort between Capcom and GOG designed to ensure these legacy titles run efficiently on modern hardware.

Players can expect a suite of quality-of-life improvements across all four games, including enhanced DirectX rendering, windowed mode support, integer scaling, and vertical synchronization options.

The version of Resident Evil provided is completely uncut and features more graphic violence and blood than the original worldwide PlayStation release.

In Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Jill Valentine’s escape from Raccoon City is supported by improved task switching and the inclusion of the Mercenaries Mode.

Breath of Fire IV brings its classic RPG narrative of warring continents to Steam with restored environmental audio and fixes for previous battle system crashes.
