Orders Open for New The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Artbook
American publisher Dark Horse Comics has announced the start of pre-orders for the definitive artbook for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
“The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Secrets of the Zonai Hardcover” artbook will offer fans an unprecedented look into the development of the critically acclaimed video game.
This massive 9×12-inch hardcover tome serves as the official English localization of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works artbook, which originally launched in Japan in August 2024.
Containing 472 pages of comprehensive behind-the-scenes content, the book explores the direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The opening section treats readers to over 50 pages of beautiful illustrations, promotional images, and detailed character art.
Following that introduction, the book dives into nearly 300 pages of rough designs, storyboards, concept art, and developer notes.
These pages provide a deep understanding of the creative choices made during the lengthy production cycle.
Readers can then travel back to an era before the founding of Hyrule with over 80 pages dedicated to the mysterious history of the Zonai people.
This historical section frames the narrative through the eyes of the in-game Zonai Survey Team and their archaeological research.
To finish the expansive quest, the book includes exclusive interviews with Producer Eiji Aonuma, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa.
Dark Horse’s Senior Editor Patrick Thorpe noted that the rich lore and insights make this physical release a must-have for any fan of the series.
