Official Pokémon fishing lure range adds new Pikachu model to its lineup

The Japanese fishing tackle manufacturer DUO has announced a new addition to its popular “Pokémon Fishing” series of high-quality lures.
The “Pokémon Fishing” series is a line of “Made in Japan” lures that are designed to be both cute collectibles for Pokémon fans and genuinely effective, high-performance tools for serious anglers.

This new product is a special version of the Pikachu lure, themed around the Pokémon’s signature move, “Iron Tail.”

The “Pikachu | Slow Jitter Type – Iron Tail ver.” is a topwater lure that features a metallic tail part.

This heavy, metallic component is designed to reflect light in the water, creating a “flashing effect” that, combined with the lure’s vibration, strongly attracts fish, making it a “battle-spec” lure.

The lure’s face is designed with a “kiritto,” or “determined,” expression.
This new release is the fourth version of the Pikachu lure, joining the three existing variants, which each feature a different facial expression.

To coincide with this new release, the other lures in the series, the “Psyduck | Crank Type” and the “Kyogre | Crawler Type,” are also scheduled to be re-released.

The lineup of available lures in the series is as follows:
- Pikachu | Slow Jitter Type (Normal, Determined, or Grinning Face): ¥2,970 each (approx. $20 USD/£15 GBP)
- Pikachu | Slow Jitter Type (Iron Tail ver.): ¥3,190 (approx. $22 USD/£16 GBP)

- Psyduck | Crank Type: ¥2,750 (approx. $19 USD/£14 GBP)
- Kyogre | Crawler Type: ¥5,390 (approx. $37 USD/£27 GBP)
The new “Pikachu | Slow Jitter Type – Iron Tail ver.” and the other re-released lures are scheduled to go on sale at fishing tackle shops across Japan in November 2025.
