Octopath Traveler 0 revealed in latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase

A new installment in the popular “HD-2D” role-playing game series, Octopath Traveler 0, has been announced during a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase broadcast.

Octopath Traveler 0 will once again be set in the familiar world of the Orsterra continent.

A debut trailer for the game showcased several new gameplay features that are a departure from the previous titles in the series.

Footage was shown of a character customization screen, suggesting that players may be able to create their own protagonist for the first time.

The trailer also featured a screen where players were shown constructing buildings in a town, indicating that a town-building or reconstruction mechanic will be a core part of the gameplay.
