Square Enix teams up with Bandai to release new Kingdom Hearts “Kingdom Key” Keyblade replica

A new, electronic replica of the iconic “Kingdom Key” Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts video game series has been announced.

The Kingdom Key is the signature weapon of the series’ protagonist, Sora, and is one of the most famous and recognizable items in the franchise.

This new collectible is a large-scale, electronic version of the famous weapon.

It measures approximately 50 centimeters in length and is decorated with a luxurious silver and gold paint finish to replicate its in-game appearance faithfully.

The replica is equipped with a variety of light and sound gimmicks, which are split into three different modes.

In “Magic Mode,” pressing a button will trigger sound effects for various spells, such as “Fire” and “Blizzard,” and the light at the tip of the Keyblade will change its intensity based on the strength of the spell.

In “Battle Mode,” the collectible will play various combat sound effects, and after a series of repeated attacks, it will play a special “enemy defeated” sound.

The third, “MUSIC Mode,” allows the user to play two of the most popular and beloved musical themes from the series: “Dearly Beloved” and “Sora.”

The music from this mode can also be played at the same time as the “Magic” and “Battle” modes are being used.

A new promotional video has been released, which showcases the replica’s various features.

The “Kingdom Hearts – Keyblade – Kingdom Key” is a Premium Bandai exclusive item, priced at ¥9,900 (approx. $67 USD/£49 GBP).

Pre-orders for the new collectible are scheduled to open on the Premium Bandai website on Friday, the 10th of October, at 1:00 PM Japan Standard Time.

The pre-order period is scheduled to run until the 1st of December, and the product is scheduled to be shipped to customers in March of 2026.
