Desktop Mate’s new Natsuki Karin DLC features swappable outfits
A new downloadable content pack has been released for the desktop mascot platform “Desktop Mate,” featuring the voice synthesis software character, Natsuki Karin.
“Desktop Mate” is a next-generation desktop mascot application that places high-quality, 3D characters on the user’s computer desktop who can interact with the environment, with other recent DLC releases seeing the addition of Kasane Teto and Megurine Luka.
This new DLC is the second in a series featuring characters from the TOKYO6 ENTERTAINMENT voice synthesis software line.
A key feature of this add-on is the inclusion of a variety of newly recorded, original voice lines from Natsuki Karin’s official voice provider, the voice actress Miyu Takagi.
The DLC also includes two different, switchable outfits for the character.
Users can freely switch between her summer outfit, which features a ponytail hairstyle, and her winter outfit, which features a twintails hairstyle, allowing them to enjoy two different looks.
As a special, DLC-exclusive function, Natsuki Karin’s official mascot, “Ekaterina,” has also been implemented.
Ekaterina will appear on screen to deliver notifications for the application’s alarm function.
Other fan-focused details have also been included, such as the ability for the character to perform her signature “heart pose,” and a special effect where hearts will appear when the character is petted by the user’s mouse cursor.
To celebrate the launch, a physical prototype of the DLC will be exhibited at the “4th Otaru Shiokaze High School Culture Festival” event in Otaru, Hokkaido.
At the event, special download cards for the DLC will be sold, and free promotional stickers will be distributed.
Future DLC for the “Desktop Mate” platform has also been teased, with characters such as Chifuyu Hanakuma and Needy Girl Overdose’s KAngel/Chouzetsu Saikawa Tenshi-chan currently in development.
The “Desktop Mate – Natsuki Karin” DLC was released on the Steam platform for Windows PC on Thursday, the 4th of September, and is priced at ¥2,200.
