Voltron: Legendary Defender’s Latest Figure Gives The Iconic Mech a Dark New Transformation

Blitzway has revealed a new limited-edition version of its acclaimed CARBOTIX Voltron figure, giving Voltron: Legendary Defender’s iconic combining robot a striking black color scheme inspired by the Black Lion.
Voltron: Legendary Defender premiered in 2016 as a modern reimagining of Beast King GoLion, following the five Paladins as they unite to pilot the legendary Voltron and battle the oppressive Galra Empire using a blend of traditional animation and CGI that introduced a fresh new look for the classic giant robot.

Limited to just 1,500 pieces worldwide, the new CARBOTIX Voltron (Black Ver.) retains all of the engineering and premium features of the original release while introducing a dramatically darker appearance that transforms the robot’s overall presence.

Standing approximately 44 cm tall in its combined robot form, Voltron can fully separate into its five individual Lion components before seamlessly recombining into its towering final form.

Unlike the standard edition released in October 2025, this variant adopts an almost entirely black finish inspired by the central Black Lion, while the original bright colors have been repositioned as subtle accent details throughout the body.

Additional visual changes include vivid red eyes, newly recolored decorative markings, and deep translucent red effect parts for the included weapons, creating a more intimidating and aggressive appearance.

The extensive accessory lineup and display stand remain unchanged from the original release, including all five Lion-mode weapons, the large wing-formed shield, the iconic Blazing Sword and a pair of twin swords for multiple display options.

Each individual Lion features integrated LED light-up eyes that can be activated or switched off using the included magnetic control stick.

A robust die-cast internal frame provides additional weight and durability, while heavy-duty ratchet joints throughout the body help the completed robot maintain stable poses despite its impressive size and engineering complexity.

The CARBOTIX Voltron (Black Ver.) is priced at ¥99,880 (approx. $685 USD / £505 GBP).

The limited-edition figure is now available to pre-order from collectible retailers and specialty hobby stores, such as AmiAmi, before its scheduled release in November 2026.
