New Gundam Wing x Hatsune Miku collab figure fully revealed
The fully painted prototype for a new figure that fuses the world of the virtual singer Hatsune Miku with the iconic Gundam franchise has been revealed.
The “Hatsune Miku x Wing Gundam Zero EW” figure will be part of the “Lucrea” line from the manufacturer MegaHouse.
The Lucrea brand by MegaHouse is a line of high-quality, non-articulated figures that focuses on capturing characters with a sense of presence and sculpted beauty, often in dynamic poses.
This new figure is a part of the broader “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku” special collaboration project, which has seen the two massive Japanese pop culture properties join forces for various initiatives.
Another Hatsune Miku x Gundam figure was recently revealed by prize figure manufacturer Banpresto and will be released later this year.
The MegaHouse figure’s design is based on an original illustration by the artist neco, who is known for a sleek and detailed art style that often blends cute characters with futuristic or mechanical elements.
Neco’s design reimagines Hatsune Miku with costume elements inspired by one of the most recognizable mobile suits in the Gundam universe.
The figure incorporates features of the Wing Gundam Zero as it appeared in the OVA and film, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.
This version of the mobile suit is famous for its large, angelic wings, a design motif that has been translated into the new figure’s aesthetic, with a color scheme that evokes the Gundam’s classic look.
The figure is posed with Miku wielding a conductor’s baton, as if directing a musical performance.
The reveal of the painted prototype gives fans a complete look at the intricate sculpting and the final color palette of the figure.
MegaHouse has also revealed the first unpainted prototype of another Gundam x Hatsune Miku Lucrea figure, which features Miku in a seated pose with a Haro:
