New Gundam chocolate bars allow you to eat your favorite mobile suits

Bandai Candy has released new Gundam themed chocolate snack featuring different designs that depict popular mobile suits from the series.
The new “Gundam Charapaki Chocolate” uses Bandai’s popular “Charapaki” format to bring to life iconic mobile suits and memorable scenes from the extensive “Mobile Suit Gundam” franchise.

“Mobile Suit Gundam” was created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate and is a pioneering science fiction anime franchise that debuted in 1979 and has since spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and adaptations, becoming a cultural phenomenon in Japan and around the world.

The series is credited with popularizing the “real robot” genre, featuring giant humanoid mecha known as mobile suits engaged in intense conflicts set against a backdrop of political intrigue and human drama in space and on Earth.
Bandai’s “Charapaki” concept, short for “Character Pack,” is a unique and interactive way to enjoy chocolate which involves a chocolate bar with a pre-scored outline of a character or design.
The chocolate can be broken apart along these lines to reveal the character’s shape in individual, bite-sized pieces.

This adds an element of fun and engagement to the snacking experience, particularly for fans of the featured characters or series.
The “Gundam Charapaki Chocolate” lineup features a total of eight different designs, each depicting either a famous scene from one of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” anime series or a popular mobile suit.

These designs are molded into the chocolate bar, allowing fans to break apart and collect their favorite moments and mecha from the franchise.
The “Gundam Charapaki Chocolate” consists of a multi-layered chocolate bar featuring a combination of textures and flavors.
It includes chocolate with crunchy puffs, offering a light and airy element, alongside strawberry-flavored chocolate, caramel-flavored chocolate and white chocolate for a creamy contrast.

The different types of chocolate are also used to make the different designs on the chocolate stand out.
Adding an element of surprise and collectibility, one of the eight designs is a secret, encouraging repeat purchases to discover the hidden image.
“Gundam Charapaki Chocolate” are now available in stores across Japan and are priced at just 149 yen.
The new chocolate snacks are the latest in a line of Gundam collaborations to hit the shelves of Japanese stores.
“The Witch from Mercury” themed Tanuki and Kitsune udon noodles are currently on sale at Seven-Eleven Japan, as the convenience store chain is in the middle of a promotion that has also seen it sell an exclusive gunpla kit released in 7-Eleven stores.
