Naruto’s Latest Figure Brings One of Kishimoto’s Most Iconic Illustrations to Life
Bandai’s TAMASHII NATIONS has officially unveiled the second release in its newly launched STARTune figure series, with Naruto Uzumaki becoming the latest anime icon to join the premium figure line.
Developed under the Figuarts ZERO banner, the STARTune collection has been created to combine highly detailed character sculpts with immersive environmental elements, transforming memorable moments from anime into complete display pieces rather than standalone figures.
Naruto follows Monkey D. Luffy, whose “Setting Sail for the New World” statue introduced the STARTune concept earlier this week to a strong positive response from collectors.
Originally created by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto follows the journey of a young ninja who dreams of becoming Hokage, the leader of his village, while earning the respect of those around him and overcoming the burden of the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed within him.
The new figure recreates Naruto in the iconic pose featured on the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump’s 2007 Issue No. 11, one of the character’s most recognizable promotional illustrations.
Although this artwork previously inspired the A Prize figure from the Ichiban Kuji Naruto Shippuden: The Kazekage’s Rescue Arc lottery, the STARTune version has been completely redesigned with an all-new sculpt rather than reusing the earlier release.
The updated interpretation places greater emphasis on dramatic sculpting, refined paint applications, and a closer recreation of the original illustration, resulting in a noticeably more premium presentation.
Additional display elements further expand the scene, with Naruto standing on a detailed railing while the towering Hokage Rock rises behind him to recreate the atmosphere of the Hidden Leaf Village.
These environmental features reflect the core philosophy behind the STARTune series, where scenery and visual effects play just as important a role as the character itself in bringing famous anime moments to life.
At present, TAMASHII NATIONS has only revealed the prototype sculpt, with painted product images and additional specifications expected to be announced at a later date.
STARTune is expected to be an ever-growing multi-series line of figures, with Dragon Ball’s Goku also having been revealed as one of the first 3 entries in the new collection.
Bandai Spirits has not yet announced pricing or a release date for “Figuarts ZERO [STARTune] Naruto Uzumaki -Will of the Hokage-“, though further information is expected to be released by the manufacturer shortly.
