One Piece's Luffy Headlines Tamashii Nations Brand New STARTune Figure Line

Bandai Spirits’ TAMASHII NATIONS has announced an all-new addition to its Figuarts ZERO lineup with the introduction of the STARTune series, a premium collection designed to recreate the atmosphere and world surrounding each featured character through highly detailed sculpting, paint applications and dramatic display effects.

Leading the debut wave is “Figuarts ZERO [STARTune] Monkey D. Luffy – Setting Sail for the New World -,” bringing the One Piece captain to life in a display inspired by the beginning of the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures following the two-year timeskip.

Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they sail across the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure known as the One Piece while pursuing Luffy’s dream of becoming King of the Pirates.

The new statue captures Luffy as he appeared after reuniting with his crew at the Sabaody Archipelago, depicting him with both hands raised alongside his trademark confident smile as the crew prepares to enter the New World.

Careful attention has been given to the figure’s sculpt, with natural folds across the clothing, defined musculature, and subtle shading effects combining to create a more realistic finish while remaining faithful to the anime’s distinctive visual style.

The display is enhanced further by a backdrop incorporating the Thousand Sunny’s mast together with translucent water splash effects, helping recreate the excitement and scale of the Straw Hats’ renewed journey.

STARTune has been created as a new evolution of the Figuarts ZERO brand, placing equal emphasis on the surrounding environment as the character itself to produce display pieces that feel like complete scenes rather than standalone statues.

Bandai Spirits has also confirmed that the new product line will continue expanding beyond One Piece, with silhouette previews teasing future releases based on Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto and Son Goku from Dragon Ball.

Those early reveals suggest STARTune will become a multi-series collection celebrating some of the most recognizable heroes in anime, with additional announcements expected in the future.

The “Figuarts ZERO [STARTune] Monkey D. Luffy – Setting Sail for the New World -” statue is scheduled for release in December 2026 and is priced at ¥8,250 (approx. $56 USD / £42 GBP).
