My Hero Academia’s final season gets a new teaser trailer

A new teaser trailer for the eighth and final season of the My Hero Academia anime has been released.
TOHO animation has released the trailer ahead of the series return in October, and also in advance of a special panel due to take place at Anime Expo.

My Hero Academia, based on Kōhei Horikoshi’s immensely popular manga, has quickly become one of the most popular modern shonen animes on TV since its debut in 2016.
The arrival of the final season later this year was confirmed with the release of key art and an announcement video last year, and this new teaser trailer now provides a first glimpse at some of the animation from the upcoming season.
The series follows Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his classmates at U.A. High School as they train to become professional heroes in a world where superpowers (“Quirks”) are commonplace.

The series has received critical acclaim for its compelling characters, thrilling action, and exploration of heroism.
The manga series itself concluded in Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2024, having achieved sales of over 100 million copies worldwide by April 2024.
The final volume shipped on December 4th, 2024, including 38 pages of new content that expand upon the original ending.

The upcoming Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles will host a special “My Hero Academia Special Event” panel on July 5th.
The panel will feature Daiki Yamashita, the Japanese voice actor for Deku, and Justin Briner, his English voice actor, with both discussing the character and their performances.
An editor from Weekly Shonen Jump will also be on the panel, providing insights into the series’ development.

Series creator Kōhei Horikoshi himself will deliver a special message, although it has not been confirmed that he will be attending and it is possible this may be delivered via pre-recorded video.
Beyond the main series, the My Hero Academia universe continues to expand.
The television anime adaptation of Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court’s My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spinoff manga premiered on April 7th, 2025, with Crunchyroll also streaming it worldwide (excluding Asia), along with an English dub.
