My Hero Academia returns in 2026 for bonus episode and global live concerts
During the Jump Festa ’26 stage event on Saturday, TOHO revealed that the My Hero Academia anime still has one last surprise in store for fans, despite the main series concluding earlier this month.
To celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the anime adaptation, the franchise is launching a new bonus episode, a world concert tour, and a commemorative visual campaign.
The newly announced bonus episode is titled “More” and is based on the manga’s 431st chapter.
This chapter serves as an extension to the original finale, originally added as extra content in the manga’s final compiled book volume.
The adaptation will provide an epilogue to the long-running superhero saga, offering closure following the conclusion of the eighth and final season, which aired its last episode on December 13.
In addition to the new animation, TOHO unveiled plans for “My Hero Academia in Concert,” a world tour set to bring the series’ iconic soundtrack to life.
The concert series will feature composer Yūki Hayashi and will be accompanied by scenes from the anime, allowing fans to relive the most emotional moments of Deku’s journey through a live orchestral performance.
To mark the milestone of the anime’s debut a decade ago, a new teaser visual was released featuring ten distinct illustrations of protagonist Izuku Midoriya, chronicling his evolution from a Quirkless middle schooler to the world’s greatest hero.
The official 10th anniversary date falls on April 3, 2026, and TOHO has teased that further projects and events will be announced in the future.
The bonus episode “More” is scheduled to premiere on May 2, 2026, with Crunchyroll confirming it will stream the anime worldwide, excluding Asia.
Following this release, the “My Hero Academia in Concert” world tour will commence on May 30, 2026.
