Mouse adventure game Hela confirms Switch 2 version and release window

A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the Scandinavian folklore-inspired adventure game Hela has been officially announced, alongside the release window for the game.
The game had previously been announced for other platforms, and this latest news confirms its arrival on Nintendo’s new hardware.

Hela is an enchanting 3D adventure where players see the world through the eyes of a brave mouse.
The game is set in an expansive and lovingly crafted region, full of magical forests, tranquil lakes, and rugged mountains inspired by the landscapes of Scandinavia.

Its gameplay encourages players to explore the world, solve puzzles, and act as a force for good.
Players will use a trusty “magical backpack” to interact with the environment, collect resources, and solve the various challenges that lie ahead.

The game features realistic physics, adding a layer of immersion to how objects in the world behave.
A core theme of the game is the ability to “heal the world” through acts of kindness, with the player’s actions having transformative effects on other characters and the environment.

Hela is designed to be played either as a solo adventure or cooperatively with friends.
The game supports both local, split-screen multiplayer and online co-op modes, allowing players to journey through the vibrant vistas together.

The newly announced Switch 2 version joins the previously confirmed platforms, which include the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via both the Steam and Epic Games Store.
The game is one of many new Switch 2 games shown during the most recent Nintendo Direct, which also included new game announcements from Square-Enix, SEGA, and Bandai Namco.

Hela is scheduled to be released sometime in 2026, and you can watch the new release window announcement trailer on YouTube:
