Mega Hawlucha revealed for Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A

A brand-new Pokémon has been revealed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 title, Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A.

The new Pokémon is Mega Hawlucha, a Mega Evolved form of the Pokémon Hawlucha.

Hawlucha, a unique Fighting- and Flying-type Pokémon, was first introduced in the Pokémon X and Y games.

Mega Evolution is a popular battle mechanic that allows certain Pokémon to temporarily achieve a more powerful form, and it has been confirmed to be a central feature of the new game.

According to the official description, when Hawlucha “Mega Evolves”, the energy of the transformation causes a significant increase in its muscle mass, which boosts both its Attack and its Defense stats.

This newfound durability changes its battle style, turning it into even more of an “entertainer.”

Mega Hawlucha is described as having a tactic where it will intentionally endure an opponent’s attack simply to show off its strength and defensive prowess to the crowd.

After withstanding the hit, it will then counterattack to make the opponent flinch before aiming to finish the battle with its signature move, Flying Press.

This showboating tendency is an amplification of its original personality; where it once created openings by posing too much, its new confidence in its durability has only made it show off more.

The new Pokémon will retain its Fighting and Flying-type after Mega Evolving.
