McDonald’s Reveals 5 New Pokémon 30th Anniversary Burgers

McDonald’s Japan has revealed the five new burgers arriving as part of its Pokémon Summer at McDonald’s collaboration, giving fans even more ways to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary.
Pokémon first debuted in 1996 with Pokémon Red and Green on the Game Boy before growing into one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, spanning video games, anime, trading cards, movies and merchandise enjoyed by generations of fans.

The new burger lineup forms the latest phase of the Pokémon Summer at McDonald’s campaign, which also celebrates McDonald’s Japan’s 55th anniversary and builds on previously announced promotions including Pokémon-themed 15-piece Chicken McNuggets packaging and the Pokémon Summer Chance Bag, which contains exclusive merchandise.

The first of the new burgers is the Tartar Demi Thick Beef Burger, which pairs a thick beef patty with rich demi-glace sauce and tartar sauce for a hearty limited-time offering.

Fans looking for something with extra spice can also try the Juicy Chicken Spicy Garlic Burger, which combines a crispy chicken fillet with a spicy garlic-flavored sauce.

Seafood lovers are also being catered for with the Roasted Sesame Tartar Shrimp Burger, featuring a shrimp patty topped with roasted sesame tartar sauce.

Breakfast visitors will be able to order the Tartar Demi Sausage Muffin, which will be available exclusively during McDonald’s breakfast hours as part of the campaign.

Meanwhile, evening customers can enjoy the Tartar Demi Double Thick Beef Burger, a “Night McDonald’s” exclusive that doubles the amount of beef for an even more substantial meal.

Each of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary Burgers will be served in exclusive packaging decorated with some of the series’ most iconic Pokémon, including Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, and a final design that features Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard.

The new burger packaging joins the previously revealed collectible Pokémon-themed 15-piece Chicken McNuggets packaging, which features exclusive Pokémon artwork on every side of the box.

The special Chicken McNuggets promotion also introduces two new dipping sauces, with Cheese Curry Sauce blending creamy cheese and mild Japanese curry spices, while Savory Salt Garlic Sauce combines roasted garlic with a lightly salted finish.

The Chicken McNuggets campaign remains part of McDonald’s “Toku ni Naru-do” value promotion, allowing customers to purchase a 15-piece Chicken McNuggets box for a special promotional price of ¥490 (approx. $3 USD / £2.50 GBP) instead of the regular ¥740 (approx. $5 USD / £3.80 GBP).

The Pokémon Summer at McDonald’s campaign will also include Pokémon-themed Happy Meals, with McDonald’s set to confirm details of this part of the campaign before the end of July.

New television commercials starring actor Ryo Yoshizawa and streamer SHAKA have also been released to promote the Pokémon 30th Anniversary Burgers, joining the previously announced “Toku ni Naru-do: Summer 15-Piece Nuggets – Nugget Balloon” commercial featuring Masato Sakai.

The Pokémon 30th Anniversary Burgers will launch at participating McDonald’s restaurants across Japan on July 22, 2026, while the Pokémon-themed 15-piece Chicken McNuggets packaging, Cheese Curry Sauce, and Savory Salt Garlic Sauce are available through August 11, 2026.
