McDonald’s New Gundam Collab Features Two Exclusive RX-78-2 Figures

A brand new limited-time collaboration is officially bringing the iconic mecha of the Mobile Suit Gundam series to participating McDonald’s restaurants across Taiwan.
The fast-food chain has teamed up with the legendary anime for the new campaign, which is focused entirely on the classic RX-78-2 Gundam.

At the center of the promotion is the Four-Ounce Angus Beef Burger series, which utilizes thick, juicy patties designed to deliver a heavier bite.
Diners can choose between the original four-ounce beef burger, the spicy four-ounce beef burger, the double original four-ounce beef burger, and the double spicy four-ounce beef burger.

The spicy variations feature a Cajun-style sauce to add a mild kick alongside a deeper flavor profile, perfectly complemented by a smooth, melted cheese finish.
Purchasing a Gundam collaboration meal will secure customers their choice of a limited RX-78-2 figure, alongside any Four-Ounce Burger, a side, and a drink.

Alternatively, a figure can be added to a regular value meal or sharing box for an additional 199 TWD (approx. $6 USD / £5 GBP).
The figures are available in two designs, starting with the “M Striker,” which features a classic look with a bold McDonald’s-inspired color twist.

The second option is the “M Blade,” showcasing a darker shadow-style design accented with sleek black and yellow details.

Each meal’s packaging has been fully transformed for the event, with themed burger boxes, carry bags, and drink cups all adorned with RX-78-2 and Zaku artwork.
A second wave of merchandise will also introduce a special RX-78-2 and Char’s Zaku Mug Set containing two themed cups, which can be added to any value meal or sharing box for 499 TWD (approx. $16 USD / £12 GBP).

The main meal campaign runs from Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 10:30 AM through Tuesday, May 26, 2026, while the mug set will officially launch on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The figures are not sold separately and are strictly limited to six per transaction, a move which is intended to combat resale of the exclusive items.
These meals and exclusive rewards are only available at participating restaurant locations, drive-thrus, and ordering kiosks, and cannot be purchased via delivery apps or mobile ordering.
